Our mission is to show a reflection of racial and ethnic harmony; bridge building of various ethnic and racial communities; to promote a feeling of racial and ethnic unity in the Mat-Su by facilitating a forum of citizens and stakeholders together through education, communication, and social interactions; to establish and maintain a scholarship fund for Mat-Su Borough graduating high school students; to educate and bring awareness concepts and ideals of Dr. King, and to convene an annual event on the national holiday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Established 2001, in 2006 the Mat-Su Martin Luther King, Jr. Foundation, Inc. ((Mat-Su MLK, Jr. Foundation) reorganized as a non-profit tax exempt 501(3) (c) entity (EIN#01-0867530).
